TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Despite tornado warnings and heavy rain, No. 4 Duke
(13-3, 5-0 in the ACC) outlasted the Seminoles 3-2 during the first
overtime period at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Duke’s Samantha Baggett’s
unassisted score, her second of the day, off of an outstretched Melissa
Juhl was the Blue Devils game-winner in the sudden death period.

Stephanie Dietrich headed in Angela Bonaffino’s corner kick from inside the
box in the 10th minute. Baggett tied the game at one apiece 17 minutes
later in the 27th minute, off an Andi Melde pass.

Before the first period would end, Melde would add a goal of her own
after a Duke penalty kick in the 34th minute and FSU’s Jessica Driscoll
would tie the game with her unassisted score from 15 yards out in the 47th

Neither team would score again until Baggett’s winner in the 99th minute
of play.

Despite the loss, FSU outshot Duke 11-7 and the Blue Devils received four
yellow cards.
