Seminoles Send Five to Track and Field Championships
Women’s track representatives prep for June 3-6 competition.

TALLAHASSEE, FL. — The Florida State women’s track and field team will send five athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Championships will be held in Boise, Idaho on June 3-6.
Junior Samantha George will represent FSU in the 400m dash. George ran a qualifying time of 51.98 back on April 10th in Tampa, Florida. The 4x400m relay team ran a 3:36.31 on May 1st in Gainesville, Florida to qualify for the Championships. The team consists of sophomore Tangela Wobbleton, sophomore Fiona Norwood, sophomore Ayana Townsend, freshman Laura Gerber, and George.
George had the fourth best qualifying time in the 400m dash. The top three qualifiers were Suziann Reid from Texas (50.76), Mikele Barber from South Carolina (51.21), and Yulanda Nelson from Baylor (51.42).
FSU’s 4x400m relay team will compete against teams from Rice, Clemson, Arizona State, Southwest Missouri State, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana State, South Carolina, George Mason, Baylor, UCLA, Southern California, and top qualifier Texas.
Last year at the NCAA Outdoors, junior Zuzette Mullings was the lone qualifier for the Seminoles. Mullings placed 17th overall in the long jump with a flight of 19-6.25.
