Florida State Volleyball Makes NCAA Tourney Field

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — With a 25-8 record, the Florida State volleyball team
has been granted an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, the NCAA
announced this evening.

The Lady Seminoles will head to Gainesville to face South Florida in the Central Region on Friday, Dec. 5th at 7 p.m. at
the O’Connell Center. The winner of the match will play host-Florida, the
number two seed, on Saturday, Dec. 6th. Saturday’s match time is yet to be

Florida State will be making its ninth appearance in NCAA Championship
play and its first since 1993. The Lady Bulls, 25-8 and also an at-large
selection, will be making its fourth overall and third consecutive
appearance in NCAA post-season play.

“We’re really excited about this,” FSU head coach Cecile Reynaud said.
“We were together as a team watching the announcement and when Florida
State flashed up on the screen, it was pretty exciting.”

Florida State holds a 31-2 series advantage over South Florida. The two
schools have not met since the 1995 season when USF defeated the Lady
Seminoles in four games in the South Florida Classic in Tampa.
