Florida State’s Fiona Bolten Named All District

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Florida State junior setter Fiona Bolten has been
selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s All-District Team
for District 3, AVCA officials announced today.

Bolten, a Tampa, Fla., native, was Florida State’s primary setter in her
first season in the garnet and gold and helped lead the squad to a 25-9
record and to its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1993. A
second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, Bolten led the team
with 1235 assists for a 12.86 per game average. She also ranked second on
the team in service aces with 30 and digs with 293 and set a new FSU record
for assists in a match with 75 against North Carolina on October 31st and
then bettered that mark with 81 against Virginia in the ACC Tournament.

Bolten becomes the first FSU player to receive district honors since the
1994 season when standout outside hitter Luiza Ramos earned the distinction
for the third straight year.

The AVCA District 3 Team also includes Alison Coday, OH, Clemson;
Elizabeth Efron, OPP, Maryland; Carla Gartner, OPP, Georgia Tech; Rochelle
Komula, MB, Georgia Tech; Eden Kroeger, S, Maryland; Olga Matejickova, MB,
George Mason; Danielle Olein, MB, Georgia Tech; Lori Price, S, William and
Mary; Tori Seibert, MB, North Carolina; Cindy Stern, MB, Clemson; Jamie
Summers, MB, Maryland.
