Christina Bernal, New Jersey native, joined Florida State University in January of 2018 as a graduate assistant coach working with track and field throwers, jumpers, vaulters, men’s distance, cheer, and dance teams. She spent the Fall 2017 semester as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Appalachian State University in North Carolina where she worked with throwers, softball, women’s golf, and cheerleading. Before Appalachian State, Christina worked at Reach Your Potential Training, a private sector in Tinton Falls, New Jersey where she worked primarily with high school, college, and professional athletes in field movement, strength training, and rehabilitation post-injury.Christina is certified by the NSCA as a certified strength and conditioning coach, as well as certificates in USA Weightlifting and American Red Cross CPR/AED. She plans to pursue her Master’s Degree in sports management at Florida State as she sets her goals on helping her athletes achieve the best in their time at FSU.

In 2016, Christina received her undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland spending her final semesters interning with the strength and conditioning department. She is a former member of the Women’s Track and Field team where she threw javelin from 2012 to 2016 competing in both the ACC and Big Ten Conference with two championship meet appearances.

Christina is certified by the NSCA as a certified strength and conditioning coach, as well as certificates in USA Weightlifting and American Red Cross CPR/AED. She plans to pursue her Master’s Degree in sports management at Florida State as she sets her goals on helping her athletes achieve the best in their time at FSU.
