Charles Nichols is in his first season as Florida State’s Executive Assistant to Head Coach Willie Taggart.
Nichols has come to Florida State after a very successful career as a High School Social Studies teacher and coach which spanned over 20 years. He spent the last nine years at Atascocita High School in Humble, TX under Craig Stump and Dean Colbert. Prior to that he coached and taught at Nimitz High School and Beaumont Central under David Suggs. His career began in Bowling Green, KY at Greenwood High School and later continued at Scott County High School in Georgetown, KY under Jim Mckee. While at Scott County he coached current FSU Head Strength Coach Irele Oderinde.
Nichols was named Teacher of the Year three times in three different schools, helping numerous student/athletes go to college to participate in Collegiate athletics. Nichols lives by the motto: In it for the outcome, not the income.
Nichols, a letterman for the Hilltopper Football team at Defensive back from 1992-94, has a Bachelors’ Degree in Print Journalism and Teachers’ Certification from WKU.
