
After serving four years as a sports information assistant at Florida State, Christa Salerno was promoted to sports information director in 2015 where she is a football, swimming and diving and cross country contact.
As a football SID, Salerno is responsible for game day operations, including credentials. She also assists with various NCAA events and was the media coordinator for the 2021 NCAA XC Championships.
Salerno joined FSU in 2011 where she was the contact for swimming and diving as well as women’s tennis before taking over indoor volleyball in the fall of 2013.
Prior to FSU, Salerno served as an intern for three years in the University of Pittsburgh media relations department, assisting with football, volleyball, swimming and diving and basketball duties.
In 2010, Salerno assisted the Detroit Lions media relations staff as an intern for training camp that season.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Salerno is a graduate from the University of Toledo, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2008. She was a four-year member of the swimming and diving team and served as team captain during her senior year, leading the Rockets to a runner-up finish at the MAC Championships.
In 2016, Salerno was named to the Fox Chapel Area Schools Sports Hall of Fame for her athletic achievements in swimming and soccer. Additionally, she currently holds a blue belt in BANG Muay Thai kickboxing.
