
Kacy King joined the FSU staff in August of 2011 as Director of Educational Services at Florida State University. In May 2013, she was named Assistant Athletic Director/Associate Director Student-Athlete Academic Services. She was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in July of 2016. In her current role, she oversees the daily operations of the Student-Athlete Academic Services unit with a significant focus on the detailed monitoring of degree progress and eligibility. She also assists with the overall management of the unit and supervises several academic advisors and learning specialists who serve all FSU sport programs.
King is an active member of the N4A – The National Association of Academic and Student-athlete Development Professionals and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the organization.
Previously, King served as Academic Coordinator for the football and volleyball programs at Duke University (2007-2011). Prior to arriving at Duke, King worked as an Academic Coordinator, Assistant for Life Skills, and Lead Academic Mentor at Michigan State University (2002-2007).
A native of Bexley, Ohio, King received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. She was a member of the field hockey program and earned Academic All-America honors. She earned a Master’s degree in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education from Michigan State. She continued her education at Michigan State, earning her Ph.D. in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education with a cognate in Educational Psychology in 2008.
Kacy is married to Andrew King. They have two daughters – Ellery and Fiona.
