
Grant Escue joined the Florida State University Athletics Department in May of 2021 as the Senior Director of Compliance. Escue works in the areas of recruiting and playing and practice seasons, and administers FSU’s Elite Student-Athlete program. Escue also serves on FSU Athletics’ Executive NIL Committee and monitors all day-to-day Name, Image, and Likeness activities for the FSU Athletics Compliance Office. Escue is the primary compliance sport contact for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, cross country, and track; additionally, Escue is the secondary compliance contact for football.
Before coming to FSU, Escue served as the senior compliance administrator at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, for seven years. As the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, Alumni Relations & Strategic Initiatives, he was the sport administrator for baseball, men’s soccer, women’s golf, and men’s golf. In addition, he oversaw the university’s alumni letter winner organization, including fundraising and membership growth.
Escue began his compliance career as an intern at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and then served as an assistant athletic director at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Escue played baseball at Stanford University and Bradley University. He was named Second Team All-American, was a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior Class Award, and earned all-conference honors twice. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Bradley University and a Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University.
Escue lives in Tallahassee with his wife Tara, who works in the FSU Foundation office.
