Jaden Hamil

Jaden Hamil joined Florida State University in January 2021. Originally hired as the Assistant Performance Dietitian, Jaden was promoted to Director of Performance Nutrition in March 2022.  Prior to her arrival in Tallahassee, she was previously the Performance Nutrition Assistant at the University of Alabama, where she also received her bachelor’s degrees in Human Performance Exercise Science and Food and Nutrition.

After receiving her first bachelor’s degree in Human Performance Exercise Science from University of Alabama, Hamil pursued her master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at Mississippi State University. During her time at Mississippi State University, she assisted with several research projects involving carbohydrate and amino acid supplementation. Hamil left Mississippi State with three publications including her thesis research publication investigating carbohydrate supplementation in CrossFit athletes.

Before coming to Tallahassee, Hamil worked four years at the University of Alabama. Her duties there included overseeing all aspects of performance nutrition for the soccer and men’s and women’s swim and dive teams while assisting with the football team. During her time at Alabama, Hamil also spent time as a contractor with Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI). Hamil would travel to other collegiate or professional programs to assess hydration for athletes and provide education based on their results. While working with Alabama and GSSI, Hamil completed her second bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition.

In her current role, Hamil provides nutritional services to student athletes in order to ensure optimal performance in their sport, at the highest level. She works with an interdisciplinary team of athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, psychologists, and sport coaches to provide individualized nutrition care to her assigned teams. Hamil’s assigned teams include football, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s swim and dive teams.

Hamil is originally from Ocean Springs, Miss., and currently lives in Tallahassee with her husband, Grant.
