Kelsey Parkman is in her first year as in the Athletic Sports Nutrition Department. Born in Gainesville, Fla., and raised in Knoxville, Tenn., she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee. While at Tennessee, she was a Baker Scholar focused on improving food policy in the Knoxville area. She first became aware of the power of food when she learned to cook at the age of six and has been cooking for her family and others ever since. Parkman developed her interest in nutrition in college, where she began to take notice of the importance it plays in individual performance and everyday life. Following her bachelor’s, Kelsey pursued a career in nutrition. She received her Master of Science in Nutrition and Master of Public Health in May 2018 from the University of Tennessee.
