Merissa Carpenito is a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Florida State University, in Tallahassee Fla, where she is currently working towards her master’s degree in sports science. She oversees the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning program for the women’s tennis team, while also assisting with all other student athletes.

After completing her undergraduate degree, Merissa went on to work at IMG Academy, in Bradenton FL, as a strength and conditioning coach. During her time at IMG Academy, she worked with the tennis, basketball, and baseball student athletes.

Prior to IMG Academy, Carpenito earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of South Carolina, in 2021. During her undergraduate years, she completed a strength and conditioning internship at Hammond High School, in Columbia S.C. 

Carpenito is a certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is a USAW-Level 1 certified coach and is certified by American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED. She has also taken and completed the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) Myokinematic Restoration course.
