
Shannon Phillips joined the Seminoles during the 2020-2021 school year, serving as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for Florida State Beach Volleyball and Volleyball.
Prior to arriving at FSU, Shannon served as Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports at Georgia Southern, where she was responsible for Men’s Soccer, Swimming & Diving, Softball, Track & Field and Volleyball, in addition to overseeing all Nutrition efforts for Olympic Sport student-athletes at Georgia Southern.
Phillips served as a Strength & Conditioning Assistant at the University of Connecticut for the 2018-2019 school year, where she worked directly with Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving and Tennis, as well as assisting with Softball, Track & Field and Volleyball.
Shannon received her Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from Mississippi State University where she served as the Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant Coach for Women’s Tennis and Volleyball, in addition to assisting with Softball.
Prior to her graduate assistantship at Mississippi State University, Phillips completed internships at University of Kentucky where she assisted with all aspects of training for Baseball, Women’s Basketball, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Softball, Women’s Soccer, Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving, Women’s Tennis and Volleyball; as well as an internship at Temple University where she assisted with Crew, Men’s & Women’s Cross Country, Field Hockey, Men’s Golf, Women’s Lacrosse, Rowing, Men’s & Women’s Soccer and Volleyball.
Shannon completed her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science at Eastern University (St. David’s, PA) in 2015 where she was a member of the Volleyball team. Phillips competed in four Division III NCAA Tournaments including a 2013 run to the Elite Eight and a 2014 run to the Final Four. She is certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (CSCS) and the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC), where she presented at the 2019 National Conference. Phillips is also certified by American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED. The King of Prussia, Pennsylvania native enjoys spending time with her family and her fiancé, who is a Tallahassee native and former Florida State student-athlete.
