Seminoles.com, the official website of Florida State athletics, is proud to announce the addition of Senior Writer Tim Linafelt to our winning digital team. Linafelt will provide written content – including feature stories, game recaps and a variety of other pieces – starting with coverage of the Seminole football team’s game at Syracuse this Saturday.
“The hiring of Tim Linafelt demonstrates our commitment to marrying the best video content on the web with the best written content as well,” said Assistant AD Elliott Finebloom. “Tim has worked this beat for seven years. He knows our athletics programs and our student-athletes as well as anyone covering FSU today. He is going to bring a level of coverage to Seminoles.com that our fans have never experienced in the past. Every time we open our browsers we are going to look forward to reading what Tim has to say and we know that our fans will also.”
Linafelt has served as the editor of the Osceola, an independent publication devoted to FSU, since 2009.
He has also appeared as a regular contributor to Noles247.com, the Miami Herald and the Orlando Sentinel.
“I’m thrilled to join the team at Seminoles.com,” Linafelt said. “The Florida State coaches, staff and student-athletes all have great stories to tell and I can’t wait to share them with Seminole fans around the world.”
Linafelt grew up in Tallahassee and spent countless Saturday nights at Doak Campbell Stadium.
He began his career while still a student at FSU, assisting the Orlando Sentinel with its coverage of the twilight of coach Bobby Bowden’s legendary career.
After graduating with his degree in American and Florida Studies, Linafelt then moved to the Osceola, where he has since documented Seminole football’s renaissance under coach Jimbo Fisher.
Tim and his wife, Zoe, were married in April. They live in Tallahassee.
“Seminoles.com is uniquely positioned to tell the stories of FSU athletics in a way that no one else can,” Linafelt said. “We want FSU fans to know that when they visit Seminoles.com, they’ll find unique and insightful content that connects them with the teams, coaches and student-athletes that they’re passionate about. I’m excited to be a part of it.”
