TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ( – Senior outside hitter Jekaterina Stepanova of the 21st-ranked Florida State University indoor volleyball team has been named the ACC Co-Player of the Week, announced today by the conference.

The Riga, Latvia, native earns her first conference player of the week honor after leading the Seminoles to their third ACC championship in school history, including their second in the last three seasons. Stepanova combined to hit .461 in two matches last weekend with 38 kills and just three attack errors in 76 attacks.

Stepanova led FSU to a 3-1 victory at Clemson last Friday in front of an audience. She amassed 20 kills and 12 digs to highlight her 13th double-double of the season. Stepanova also recorded a .514 hitting percentage against the Tigers, and totaled at least 20 kills for the fourth time in her two-year Seminole career.

In the ACC championship clincher at Georgia Tech on Saturday, Stepanova had 18 kills, a .410 hitting percentage and eight digs as FSU sealed the conference title with a 3-1 win. She fittingly ended the match with a hard-hitting kill from the left side.

For the season, Stepanova is leading the Seminoles with 342 kills, 3.29 kills per set and carries a .274 attack percentage. She also is averaging 2.74 digs per set.

Joining Stepanova as ACC Player of the Week is Clemson junior outside hitter Serenat Yaz.

The Seminoles have one more regular-season match before they get ready for NCAA Championship play. FSU plays at 25th-ranked Miami on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m. in the James L. Knight Sports Complex in Coral Gables, Fla.

FSU will learn whether it will get an opportunity to host in the postseason when the NCAA Volleyball Selection Show is scheduled to air on Sunday, Nov. 27, at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
