COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named the Florida State men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads to its Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 semester.
“The standard at Florida State is to excel in the classroom,” FSU head swimming and diving coach Neal Studd said. “Our women’s team has consistently turned in a strong team GPA, but I am proud of our men’s team for stepping up to get back to receiving this honor. I’m very excited for both of our teams.”
The women earned Scholar All-America for the seventh-straight semester with an average of 3.45, while the men picked up their third honor under Studd with a mark of 3.01.
Between both squads, the Seminoles had 14 student-athletes represented on the President’s List and 18 on the Dean’s List for the semester.
“Coach Studd has revitalized the program in and out of the pool,” CSCAA executive director Greg Earhart said. “It has been an exciting transformation to watch.”
A record 777 teams, representing 480 institutions across all NCAA Divisions, NAIA and NJCAA were recognized. The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-Americans for 2018-19 next week.
