TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State swimming and diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America list for the Spring 2018 Semester on Tuesday.
The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our team,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We set a high standard for our student-athletes and that includes excelling in the classroom. It’s great to see our teams get recognized for their hard work out of the pool. This is a tremendous honor.”
The women turned in an GPA of 3.39 and were also recognized on the 2017 Fall Semester list, while the men earned their first recognition of the season behind a 3.05 GPA in the Spring.
Every women’s team in the ACC was represented on the list, while all but one squad made the men’s. Overall, the CSCAA recognized a total of 710 teams representing 476 institutions across all NCAA Divisions, NAIA and NJCAA. On average, 23 of the top 25 finishers in each of the NCAA Championships won the award.
The individual Scholar All-Americans will be announced next week.
