TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Before officially opening the 2019-20 season on Oct. 4, the Florida State swimming and diving teams will compete in its annual Garnet vs. Gold meet on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Morcom Aquatics Center.
“We’re looking forward to seeing our team compete,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “Everyone started the year off in great shape and they look good in practice. We’re very excited to see our newcomers race and see what we need to work on.”
Garnet vs. Gold week will conclude with a meet featuring 14 swimming events including 100s and 200s of each stroke in addition to the 1000 free, 500 free, 50 free, 200 IM, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. Diving will be a combined event.
The Seminoles will be competing in front of alumni for the annual swimming and diving reunion weekend.
Following its season opener at Notre Dame on Oct.4, the Seminoles will return to the Morcom Aquatics Center to host Virginia Tech and Duke on Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. and Minnesota on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. Admission for all home meets is free.
