TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Sydney Sherrill was named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List on Wednesday afternoon. This marks the second consecutive season that Sherrill has was named to the Top 50 Watch List.
She enters her fourth season at Florida State, having already earned numerous awards throughout her career. Sherrill was named the 2018 ACC Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-ACC First Team. She was also named a 2018 NFCA Third Team All-American as she helped lead the Seminoles to the National Championship.
In 2019, Sherrill was named to the All-ACC First Team once again as she was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year. She was named an NFCA First Team All-American and was a Top 25 Finalist for the USA Softball Player of the Year.
Sherrill currently ranks in a tie for first all-time in doubles at Florida State with 51. she has a career batting average of .380 and has 32 home runs and 134 RBIs to go along with her 51 doubles.
Sherrill and the rest of the Seminoles begin their season on February 11 when they take on Florida A&M in their first of three games of the JoAnne Graf Classic.
