TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-  Florida State men’s tennis earned three wins on day one of the Tallahassee Futures presented by Visit Tallahassee on Saturday inside the Indoor Tennis Facility.

In an interesting turn, the tournament draw pitted associate head coach Ryler DeHeart in a match against freshman Rana-Roop Singh Bhullar. DeHeart won 7-6(4), 6-2.

Junior Terrell Whitehurst quickly dispatched James Jackson (USA) 6-0, 6-1, while freshman Alex Knaff earned his first win at the Indoor Tennis Facility, a 6-1, 6-0 sweep of FAMU’s Karlyn Small.

“I was especially pleased with getting Terrell out there, he hasn’t played for a long time,” head coach Dwayne Hultquist said. “I thought Alex was particularly sharp today- you can tell that he’s implementing a lot of the things we’ve been working on.”
