LOUISVILLE, Ky. – No. 17 Florida State (15-10, 10-8 ACC) hits the road for a three-game series at No. 7 Louisville (18-9, 10-4 ACC) beginning Friday at 6:00 p.m. Since Louisville joined the Atlantic Coast Conference prior to the 2015 season, Florida State is the only conference team with a winning record against the Cardinals.
The Seminoles are 11-6 against Louisville, including a 3-0 mark in the ACC Tournament. This season, the Noles are 5-1 on the road, winning a series at No. 18 Virginia Tech and sweeping No. 6 Miami.
Friday and Saturday’s games will stream on ACC Network Extra. Sunday’s game is at 4:00 p.m. on ESPNU. Fans can also listen on the radio in Tallahassee on 100.7 FM or nationwide through Tunein or the FSU Gameday App.
Parker Messick ranks fourth nationally with 63 strikeouts and has struck out at least 10 batters in four of his past five starts. In six ACC starts, Messick’s 60 strikeouts, 1.46 earned run average and .167 batting average against is the best in the league.
Catcher Mat Nelson leads the ACC with 11 home runs after hitting his first career grand slam Tuesday against Jacksonville. The sophomore also leads the league with 33 RBI.
Leadoff hitter Tyler Martin leads the ACC in walks (24), runs scored (30) and on-base percentage (.509). He has reached base safely in 18 consecutive games and 38 of 39 career starts.
Louisville enters the weekend having won two of three games against Wake Forest.
