TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Nearing the end of the 2019 regular season, Florida State (17-8, 10-5 ACC) will play a rare road/home weekend in ACC play as the Seminoles will head up north to take on No. 2 Pitt (26-1, 15-0 ACC) on November 22, before returning to Tallahassee to host Duke (12-16, 5-10 ACC) on November 24. The Noles and Panthers will play on Friday night at 6:00 p.m., while Sunday’s match will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Prior to Sunday’s match against the Blue Devils, the Seminoles will be celebrating Senior Day and will honor Payton Caffrey and Madison Sullivan for their careers in the Garnet and Gold.
“Pitt has done an amazing job this year, and we are proud of the way they have represented the ACC,” said FSU head coach Chris Poole. “It is going to be a tough match tomorrow. I feel that we played them competitively here, but we know from this season that we haven’t been as consistent as we would like. In order to perform well against Pitt, you have to be consistent and have to limit your errors.”
The Noles hold a 5-9 record against Pitt, including a 3-6 mark since the Panthers joined the ACC for the 2013 season. FSU has lost each of the last five matches in the series, and last beat Pitt on Oct. 16, 2016 in a 3-1 win at home.
Florida State is 22-37 all-time against Duke, including a 9-15 record at home. The Seminoles have been successful as of late against the Blue Devils, winning nine of the last 11 matches, including each of the last six, dating back to 2015.
Both matches this weekend will air nationally on ACC Network, and links for the stream and live stats will be available on the volleyball schedule page on Seminoles.com.
