TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Finishing the 2019 regular season on the road, Florida State (18-9, 11-6 ACC) will head down to face Miami (10-13, 6-9 ACC) in a match on Wednesday, November 27. The Seminoles and the Hurricanes will play in the Knight Complex at 3:00 p.m.
“Miami is a very good serving team, and are always tough on their home court,” said FSU head coach Chris Poole. “Even with our best teams, it has been a battle when we’ve played them in Miami. It is a tough gym with low ceilings and a lot of balls go off the tiles, so it is a place that they really have a home court advantage with. We are going to have to step up if we are going to win there. I thought that we played the best we have in the last few years on Sunday against Duke, so if we can continue that, it will certainly help us.”
Florida State is 33-21-1 in the all-time series against Miami, and has won 10 out of the last 13 matches, dating back to 2012. The Hurricanes have won each of the last two matches played in Coral Gables, in 2017 and 2018.
The Seminoles defeated the Canes in four sets in Tallahassee earlier this season (25-21, 21-25, 29-27, 25-21), led by 21 kills from Payton Caffrey, as well as eight blocks and eight kills from Taryn Knuth.
