Several colleagues, friends and former players gathered recently to honor Dr. Cecile Reynaud for her 25 years as head coach of the Florida State volleyball team. The “Celebratory Roast of Dr. Cecile Reynaud,” put on by the Friends of Cecile Committee included featured “roasters” such as Linda Dollar, Reynaud’s college coach, Dr. Billie Jones, FSU’s volleyball coach from 1970, 1972-75, Dr. JoAnne Graf, FSU’s softball coach, and supermodel Gabrielle Reece, former player. Several other “friends of Cecile” also provided memorable stories about the FSU coach.

The special evening included dinner, photo memories of Reynaud, a video highlighting Reynaud’s career as well as two very special presentations. The first was from Sandy Vivas, the former executive director of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, who presented Reynaud with an award from Billie Jean King and the Women’s Sports Federation, congratulating and recognizing her for 25 years of coaching and 600 victories. Then the Seminole Boosters’ Debbie Derzypolski announced that a scholarship endowment has been started in the name of Reynaud’s mother Barbara.

If interested in contributing to the endowment, please contact Seminole Boosters, Inc., at (850) 644-3484.
