W. Golf: Two Named To All-ACC Academic Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Two members of the record-setting Florida State Women’s Golf Team — Alice Hodge and Amelia Williamson – have been named to the 2022 All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team. Williamson was also named as the ACC Women’s Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year. The Seminoles finished the season with a tied for fifth place finish in the National Championship Finals and with a cumulative 3.438 Grade Point Average in the classroom.

It marks the eighth consecutive season that two Seminoles have been named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team. Hodge and Williamson have been named to the team for the second time in their careers.

“This group of girls was a lot of fun for our staff to coach,” said Head Coach Amy Bond. “There was not much that we had to ask them to do either on the course or in the classroom. In many ways, they learned from one another, and pushed each other to achieve both in golf and academically. I am very proud of where we are, because this is the culture we’ve been building within our program for a long time. It’s exciting to know that the student-athletes who have helped build, and continue to help build this program, are supremely motivated to set and reach very high goals as individuals, and as a team.”

Williamson, who earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management in 2022, finished her senior season with a 3.625 Grade Point Average, All-American Second-Team honors and her first career individual victory at the Florida State Match Up. Williamson’s GPA was as high as her stroke average was low (72.82) during the spring semester.

“We had two players earn All-American honors this season which is a great accomplishment in itself,” said Bond. “Two of our players (Williamson and Beatrice Wallin) also earned their degrees from Florida State. That one sentence, more than any other, illustrates the solid foundation that we have in place here at FSU.”

Hodge continued to excel academically as she finished the spring semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA – the second consecutive semester she had achieved a 4.0 in the classroom. She has earned President’s List honors (twice) and Dean’s List Honors (twice) during her first four semesters at Florida State. Hodge begins her junior year witch a career GPA of 3.957 as a Finance major.

To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Women’s Golf Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of class, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

A total of 27 different Seminoles have been named to the All-ACC Academic Women’s Golf Team a total of 53 times since the team was established in 2006.
