White-Stokes Captures Fourth Consecutive ACC Honor After Perfect Game

For the fourth consecutive week, senior Jen White-Stokes has been honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference for her outstanding performance for the Seminole softball team. The senior from Tuttle, OK was named ACC and SASA pitcher of the week after going 2-0 with a win over Florida and a perfect game win against East Carolina. Since April 2, White-Stokes has been named ACC pitcher of the week twice, SASA pitcher of the week twice, ACC player of the week twice, SASA player of the week once and an NFCA outstanding performer.

White-Stokes went 2-0 and threw just the second perfect game in Seminole Softball Complex history last week as the Seminoles went 5-0 with sweeps over rival Florida in Gainesville and SASA foe East Carolina and a 12-0 blowout of FAMU. She allowed just one earned run in 12 innings of work and won two of FSU’s biggest games of the season with a 3-1 victory at Florida and 9-0 victory over East Carolina.

In the nightcap of a doubleheader with the Gators, White-Stokes secured FSU’s first-ever sweep of UF by allowing just four hits over seven innings and one earned run to down UF 3-1. She then pitched game two of a SASA doubleheader with East Carolina and notched just the second perfect game ever pitched at the Seminole Softball Complex White-Stokes pitched five perfect innings while striking out three batters on her way to win number 17 on the season. She had a 3 to 1 strike out to walk ratio and limited batters to just a .100 batting average for the week. She also went .417 at the plate in 12 at bats with a double and an RBI.

The right-hander is now 17-2 on the season with a 0.55 ERA. She has appeared in 26 games, tallied 21 starts, 18 complete games, 10 shutouts and one save. She has allowed just 11 earned runs in 139 innings of work and has struck out 91 batters and walked just 25. She is also second on the team with a .362 batting average, third on the team with a .504 slugging percentage and a .404 on base percentage. She has knocked in 24 RBI, hit 10 doubles, one triple and two homeruns this season.
