Women’s Basketball Announces 2020-21 ACC Schedule

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The highly-anticipated 20-game Atlantic Coast Conference schedule has been unveiled on Wednesday morning, with Florida State Women’s Basketball hosting 10 home games against some of the conference’s best opponents.

Two Associated Press preseason Top 10 opponents come to Tallahassee in No. 5 Louisville (Sunday, Jan. 10) and No. 8 NC State (Thursday, Jan. 21). An attractive home slate also includes games against No. 23 Syracuse (Thursday, Feb. 11), Duke (Thursday, Jan. 7) and Miami (Sunday, Feb. 14).

Florida State’s ACC opener will be at home vs. Virginia on Sunday, Dec. 13. The rest of the home slate includes Pitt (Sunday, Dec. 20), Clemson (Thursday, Dec. 31), Georgia Tech (Sunday, Jan. 31) and Wake Forest (Sunday, Feb. 28).

“We have a really strong home schedule,” Interim Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “The 20-game ACC schedule allows our fans to have an extra home game involving the nation’s best conference. There are some marquee matchups that will be held at the Tucker Center this year. This conference always provides a challenge, but our group is ready for whatever comes their way.”

FSU then travels to 17th-ranked Northwestern (Dec. 3) before hosting its final non-conference home game vs. Austin Peay on Dec. 6.

All game times and TV network selections will be announced in the near future.

The conference is divided into three regional divisions, with home and away games played against divisional opponents, five home games against non-divisional opponents, and five away games against non-divisional opponents.

The two additional non-divisional games were scheduled by the conference office, with most teams being assigned one home and one away game, with a few exceptions.

Florida State’s last taste of ACC action was in the conference tournament title game against NC State on March 8, 2020. The Seminoles return four players with starting experience from last season in juniors Morgan Jones, Valencia Myers, Kourtney Weber and sophomore River Baldwin.

Season tickets will be made available for previous season ticket holders beginning Thursday, Nov. 12. Donors and Coaches Club members can begin purchasing season tickets on Monday, Nov. 16, at 9 a.m. on Seminoles.com or by calling the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at 1-888-FSU-NOLE. Season tickets will be on sale to the general public starting on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

The 2021 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament will be held March 3-7 at the Greensboro Coliseum for the 21st time in the last 22 years.
