TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Saturday was the first day of practice for reigning ACC Coach of the Year Sue Semrau and her Seminole women’s basketball team. The Seminoles practiced from 7:30 to 9:30 in the morning and worked primarily on defense as well as introducing the transition offense. The squad concluded the practice with a scrimmage.
“I was extremely pleased with this morning’s practice, particularly from an effort standpoint,” Semrau said. “It was obvious to me that the tradition has found its way to Florida State women’s basketball and that our work ethic is just as important to this team as our talent. It was a great way to start our preseason.”
The Tribe returns three starters to a team that is coming off of a record season in which the Seminoles finished 19-12 overall, placed third in the ACC regular season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Florida State opens the season in the Virgin Islands vs. NCAA Tournament participant St. Mary’s on November 18th.
