After a two-game road swing, the women’s basketball team will return home to host the Maryland Terrapins at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The game will be the featured ACC Sunday game and will be televised regionally, including on Sunshine Network in the state of Florida. The Seminoles are 15-7 overall and 7-4 in ACC play and have a hold on the third-place spot in the league. Maryland, under first-year head coach Brenda Frese, will come to Tallahassee with a 9-14 record and a 3-9 ACC mark. The Seminoles topped the Terrapins by a score of 76-61 back in mid-January.

Maryland has a 16-10 series advantage over Florida State, but the Seminoles have won six of the last seven meetings with the Terrapins, including a 76-61 win in College Park on January 16th. The series began in the 1991-92 season, FSU’s first season in the league. Last year, the Seminoles fell 62-50 in College Park but rebounded to take a 60-55 win over the Terrapins in Tallahassee.

Head Coach Sue Semrau is 8-4 vs. Maryland since her arrival in 1997-98. In the eight wins, the Seminoles have won by an average of 11.4 points per game. All four losses have been in games played in College Park.
