Women’s Soccer Rolls Past Florida International, 3-0

MIAMI, Fla. – The Florida State Seminole soccer team took a 3-0 win
over the Florida International Golden Panthers tonight in Miami. The
Seminoles improve to 4-2 as FIU drops to 3-2.

The two teams remained scoreless until the second half when senior
Angela Bonaffino knocked in a penalty kick at 56:51. Junior Stephanie
Dietrich had her first goal of the season when she added another off a
corner kick from freshman Janey Hallberg that rebounded off sophomore Marte
Vik Edvardsen. Vik Edvardsen scored the final goal of the match at the
70:07 mark off a corner kick from senior Gina Iacovella. Senior goalkeeper
Jamie Gurtov tallied six saves in her third shutout of the season.

The Seminoles will return to action as they take a road trip to
North Carolina next weekend. FSU takes on the North Carolina Tar Heels on
Friday, September 17 at 7pm in Chapel Hill before heading to Winston-Salem
on Sunday, September 19 for a showdown with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons
at 2pm.
