Women’s Tennis Concludes Play At ITA All-American Championships

Tulsa, Okla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team wrapped up play at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday.

The day began with main draw doubles action, which had been postponed due to weather on Wednesday.  Junior Emmanuelle Salas and freshman Victoria Allen started the morning off strong as they took down Marycaroline Meredith and Eliza Omirou of Wake Forest in the first round of the doubles main draw.  The Garnet and Gold took an early lead resulting in an 8-3 victory to advance to the second round.

Salas and Allen had a quick turnaround as they took the court thirty minutes after their first match to take on Colorado’s Monica Malinen and Sara Nayar. Salas and Allen, unable to keep their winning streak going, fell short 8-2 in the round of 16.

Florida State will now shift their focus to hosting the ITA Southeast Regional Championship in Tallahassee Oct. 17-21.
