TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team had yet another impressive day on day two of Seminole All-Conference Showdown. The Noles went 7-2 overall with a 2-1 doubles record, including a Flight B championship, and a 5-1 singles record.
The day once again got started with the final round of doubles. Junior Emmanuelle Salas and sophomore Andrea Garcia got the day started for the Noles with a Flight B championship. The dup took down Lucia Montano and Constanza Gorches of UNF 6-2. Seniors Ariana Rahmanparast and Julia Mikulski won the consolation bracket of Flight C with a 6-4 win over conference rival Laura Marti and Sydney Riley of Clemson. Doubles play got wrapped up for FSU with senior Ana Oparenovic and sophomore Petra Hule losing in the finals of Flight A.
In singles, Florida State picked up right where they left off. Oparenovic was the first to advance to the finals of her respective bracket as she took down Riley of Clemson 6-2, 6-4. Salas was the second Seminole to advance to the finals with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Sara Culbertson (UCF) to move on to the Flight A final. Rahmanparast became the third Seminole to move on to a final. She defeated Adelaide Lavery 6-2, 7-5 of Tulane to move on to the Flight E finals.
Garcia advanced to the Flight F finals with a win over Alejandra Moales (ETSU) 7-5, 6-2. Junior Nandini Das was the fifth Seminole to advance to the finals with a 6-2, 0-6, 10-6 win over Ariana Amaning (Southern Miss) to move on to the Flight D finals. Mikulski will play Lucia Montano of UNF in the third-place match of Flight C tomorrow after losing in the semifinals today.
