Becky Edwards signed with Florida State in 2006 out of Downington West High School in Downington, Pa., and became one of the best soccer players in school history.
Edwards started 25 games as a freshman and her eight assists and five game-winning assists led the Noles. She was part of a defensive backline that set FSU's single-season record for shutouts (14) and GAA (0.67). Edwards was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and the Top Drawer Soccer National All-Freshman Team. She started all 27 games as a sophomore scoring three goals and assisting on three more en route to being named to the NSCAA All-Region First Team and the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team.
She was named an NSCAA First Team All-American following her junior year and led FSU to its third straight Elite Eight appearance as the Seminoles made the College Cup the previous two years. She repeated as an All-American as a senior and started 25 games, assisted on eight goals while scoring five of her own. She was also named an NSCAA First Team Scholar All-American in 2009. Over her four years at Florida State, she was a part of a defense that produced 50 shutouts over 102 games.
After a successful professional career, Becky went into coaching and was an assistant coach at Penn at the time of her hall of fame induction.
