Florida State University Athletics
Florida State Athletics Hall of Fame
Bobby Crenshaw
- Induction:
- 1982
Bobby Crenshaw lettered in football for Florida State from 1952-55 and co-captained the Seminole team as a senior.Â
Weighing only 174 pounds, Crenshaw was the smallest starting center in major college football and a two-way player who got high marks for blocking as well as interceptions and fumble recoveries on defense.
In Crenshaw, FSU had a man who led on the gridiron and across campus. He was president of his junior and senior classes and was named to both Gold Key and Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society.
Shortly after graduation, the FSU community was saddened by Air Force Lt. Crenshaw’s tragic death. I his memory, the Crenshaw Award is still given annually to the Seminole with the biggest heart.
