The name Claude Thigpen was synonymous with the Florida State Athletic Ticket Office for many years.

Thigpen worked as the Athletic Department Accountant for eight years following his graduation from FSU in 1955. In 1962, Thigpen became the Athletic Ticket Manager. These complex duties included selling, assigning and distributing season and game ticket In 1974, he assumed a new position as Athletic Business Manager. He continued to head the ticket operations and added the new responsibilities of budget and fiscal control.

In 1978 Thigpen received another promotion when he was named an Assistant Athletic Director. In this position he supervised the complete ticket and game day stadium operations and coordinated the athletic department courtesy car program. Claude also had In 1987, when Bob Harbison left the football coaching staff, Claude had the distinction of working with the athletics department longer than any other employee. He retired in 1990 following 35 years of outstanding service.
