Second baseman/Outfielder from Jacksonville...three-year letterman and two-year starter...leading batter in both 1969 (.336) and 1970 (.338) who finished with a career .336 average...tough ballplayer with lots of hustle...leadoff batter for the 1970 team; helped lead the team to the championship game of the College World Series...in 1970 he had the best batting average, most hits, most doubles, most stolen bases, best on-base percentage and was tied for second place for the most walks...1st-Team All-American for The Sporting News and 2nd-Team for American Baseball Coaches Association in 1970, the only organizations at the time that selected All-American baseball players.
