Jonas Blixt came to Tallahassee from Hammaro, Sweden, and he ignited a Seminole run to national prominence in the sport.
As a freshman, he earned his first collegiate win at the Gator Invitational, then lowered his scoring average by nearly a full stroke as a sophomore when he shot 73.19 in the 2005-06 season.
Blixt became a star during his junior and senior years. He led FSU to its first-ever ACC Championship in 2007 earning second-team All-America honors. He won two tournaments in that season including winning the ACC Championship.
In his senior year, Blixt shot a career-low 71.33, earned eight Top 10 finishes and ended his Seminole career as a First Team All-America selection. He was named to the Ping All-Southeast Region team and was an All-Nicklaus honoree. Blixt repeated as an All-ACC selection and had four tournament wins while being just the third first-team All-American in program history.
Blixt joined the PGA Tour in 2012, and he has three tour victories. He has two top-five finishes in majors, tying for second in the 2014 Master’s - his first appearance at Augusta National - and fourth in the 2013 PGA Championship.
