  • Induction:
    1980
Consistency and reliability were the marks of Mike Conley’s career as a Florida State runner. From 1956 to 1958, he was one of the South’s most outstanding performers in the mile and two mile. He was undefeated in the mile in dual meet competition as both a junior and senior. He also anchored fine Seminole teams in both the mile and sprint medley relays. In the 1958 Meet of Champions in Houston, Conley ran a 4:05.7 mile, a time that stood as the Florida State school record for 16 years. He co-captained the Seminole team as a senior. He would later become the principal of Leon High School in Tallahassee.
