Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer Earn AVCA First Team All-American Honors

Tallahassee, Fla. – Maddie Anderson and Brook Bauer are the 15th and 16th Seminoles to earn an All-American honor and the seventh pair to be named to the First Team.

Anderson and Bauer were just named on the CCSA All-Conference team yesterday, becoming the eighth pair to do so in FSU history.

The pair has a 23-8 overall record on the season and a 7-1 record in conference play with all but one match on court one. The pair’s only conference loss was to TCU on March 26th in Baton Rouge. 16 of their overall wins were against top-20 teams, nine of which were top-10.

The pair earned CCSA Pair of the Week on March 23rd following a 4-0 weekend against No. 1 UCLA, No. 7 Grand Canyon, No. 15 South Carolina, and No. 20 Tulane. They also earned AVCA Pair of the Week on April 11th following a 5-0 weekend against TAMUCC, No. 5 LSU, No. 2 TCU, No. 15 FIU, and No. 19 Stetson.

Some of their most notable wins include wins over No. 1 UCLA in Gulf Shores, No. 2 TCU at home, and No. 5/6 LSU at home and away. The pair has an overall winning percentage of .741 and .889 winning percentage at home.

This is Anderson’s first All-American title and Bauer’s first as a Seminole. Bauer was previously named All-American in 2019 at Pepperdine.
