Tallahassee, FLA. – Alex Bulte, the No. 1 ranked junior in Australia and the 144th ranked player by the ITF, has signed his NLI to play tennis at FSU. Bulte (Melbourne, Australia) has been ranked as high as 101 by the ITF and has won individual titles at the Canberra Junior Internationals, the Open Junior BNP PARIBAS de Nouvelle-Caledonie and the Victorian Junior Clay Court Championships
“We are very excited to welcome Alex,” said FSU Head Coach Dwayne Hultquist. “He has shown a lot of success as a junior player, winning matches in grand slams and taking wins against the best in the world. We can’t wait to have come on campus and get to work.”
Bulte is a member of Australia’s National Academy. Current professionals Thanasi Kokkinakis, Storm Sanders, Destanee Aiava and Jaimee Fourlis are among past pupils of the Tennis Australia program at the National Academy.
“Alex is fighter,” said assistant coach Chris Doerr. “He loves to work hard, loves to get stuck-in and is exactly the kind of guy we want on our team. He has also fallen in love with Florida State and I know he will do great things in Garnet and Gold”.
