FSU Football Surgery Update on Brodrick Bunkley, Kendyll Pope and Ray Willis

Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida State team physician Dr. Tom Haney performed surgery on three FSU football players on Friday and reported good success with all three. Junior offensive tackle Ray Willis and junior linebacker Kendyll Pope both had surgery on their left shoulders to correct problems with dislocations.


FSU head trainer Randy Oravetz reported that, “Dr. Haney felt the surgeries both went well and he felt very good about the shoulders following the procedure.”


Freshman defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley, who missed the Sugar Bowl game with an injury, underwent arthroscopic examination on his knee. Oravetz said that Dr. Haney found the anterior cruciate ligament to be fine, and found only a small lateral cartilage tear.
Oravetz would not speculate on whether any of the three would recover in time to participate in spring practice.
