Seminoles Run Past Northwestern, 71-53, In ACC/Big Ten Challenge

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Anthony Richardson scored 25 of a career-high 27
points in the second half Monday night to lead Florida State to a 71-53 victory
over Northwestern.
The game was the first in the fifth annual Atlantic Coast Conference-Big Ten
challenge that matches schools from each league.
Richardson, whose previous career high was 20 points, hit 10 of 13 shots,
including four of five from 3-point distance.
Tim Pickett added 21 for the Seminoles (5-0), who had runs of 24-9 and 18-3
in the second half when they outscored the visitors 45-22.
Jitim Young led Northwestern with 17 points while teammates T.J. Parker and
Evan Seacat added 12 each.
Northwestern (2-3) led 31-26 at halftime and built its advantage to 34-26
before Richardson keyed the 24-9 run that put Florida State into 50-43 lead.
The Wildcats pulled to within 50-48 on a pair of free throws by Young with
9:52 left when Florida State went on an 18-3 tear to put the game away.
Florida State shot 56.3 percent and was 54.5 percent from 3-poing range with
Pickett going 5-for-8 behind the arc.
