TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) –
Senior Brooks Koepka became the first four-time All-American in school history as he was named to the Second Team Ping All-American team by the Golf Coaches’ Association of American. Koepka, who finished his career as the Seminoles’ all-time leader with a stroke average of 71.81, has now been named an All-American in two of his four collegiate seasons. He earned All-American Second Team Honors from the GCAA and GolfWeek in 2012 and earned Third Team honors by the GCAA along with Honorable Mention honors from GolfWeek as a sophomore in 2010.
Koepka finished his four-year career as the most decorated player in the history Florida State’s illustrious golf program. He is a four-time All-American, a three-time All-ACC selection and a two-time ACC Golfer of the Year selection. Koepka is the only golfer in Florida State history to earn All-America honors four times, one of only two golfers to earn All-ACC honors three times and the only two-time ACC Golfer in school history.
Koepka led the Seminoles to four NCAA Regional Championship appearances and two NCAA Championship Finals appearances during his career. The Seminoles finished in a tie for third place in the 2010 NCAA Championship Finals and in ninth place in the 2012 NCAA Championship finals. Florida State’s finish in the 2010 NCAA Finals ranks as the best finish in school history.
Koepka played in his first career PGA major tournament – the U.S. Open – in June of 2012 at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. He is currently preparing to play in the Challenge Tour in Europe and will work towards earning his European Tour card.
