Tallahassee, Fla.  —  Florida State athletic officials announced Wednesday that the National Championship Celebration scheduled for Saturday in Tallahassee is postponed.

A new date for the celebration will be announced once plans are finalized.

“Due to travel conflicts and recent schedule changes for some team members, we did not feel it was fair to the fans or our players to host the celebration this weekend,” said Rob Wilson, FSU Associate Athletic Director.  “Our draft eligible players expressed that they very much wanted to be part of the celebration.  We felt that our fans, many of whom were traveling some distance, might be disappointed that key contributors to the national championship could not be present.”

The United Way’s Downtown GetDown this Friday night at the Adam’s Street Commons in Tallahassee will go on as planned.
