Florida State won 30 football games while losing only four during Bill Dawkins career from 1948-51. A steady, reliable and hard-hitting guard, Dawkins was a Little All-American in 1951 and was named to the All-Florida college team in 1950 and 1951. He became the first FSU football player selected to play in a postseason all-star game when he played in both the North-South and Senior Bowl games. He was a Seminole team captain in 1951. He went on to a high school coaching career in Miami where he was one of the state’s most respected coaches.
