Hall of Fame Class: 1993 (Men's Track and Field)

Carlos Fraundorfer’s athleticism was too much for just one sport at Florida State. He shared his athletic talent with the football, basketball, and track and field teams, and it was the latter sport that earned him hall of fame honors. As captain of the track team, Fraundorfer held school records in four different events. He excelled in the 100 and 440 yard dashes, sprint medley, mile relay and 880 yard relay. He set more records in field events with then unprecedented marks in the shot put (48’4?), discus (146’4?) and long jump (23’3 ½”). Fraundorfer continued to compete after his FSU career was over and eventually won several Masters National Championships in the hammer. In 1992, he was inducted into the State of Florida Hall of Fame.
