Hall of Fame Class: 1997 (Admits./Staff/Campus)

There may be no more fitting a person in the Florida State Hall of Fame than Dee Frye-Davis. From 1956 until her retirement in 1990, Dee was one of the most recognizable figures within the Florida State Athletics Department. Dee had worked for every athletic director in the history of Seminole athletics and she remained on duty part-time following her retirement to coordinate the annual Hall of Fame and team reunion ceremonies. For most of her 34-year career, she was in charge of the department’s personnel matters. However, her responsibilities ranged from selling tickets, to the design and advertising sales for the football program, to hosting in the football press box, to just about every duty one could imagine. Ms. Davis truly was FSU “right hand lady.”
