Hall of Fame Class: 1997 (Women's Track and Field)
Kim Batten was a nine-time All-American at Florida State starring in the long jump, triple jump, 100, 200 and 400 meter hurdles from 1988-91. Batten set school marks in all three hurdle events (55 m, 100 m, and 400 m) and advanced to the NCAA Championship each year. Batten was named the Metro Conference’s Most Outstanding Female Athlete in each of FSU’s last three years in the league. As a professional, Batten set the world record in the 400 meter hurdles with a 52.61 time mark at the 1995 World Championships in Goteburg, Sweden. She received the 1996 ESPY Award for Women’s Track and Field Performer of the Year. She won a silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
