Hall of Fame Class: 1979 (Men's Track and Field)
Mike Kelly was a versatile track star for the Seminoles in the late 1960’s whose school record time of 50.04 in the 120 yard high hurdles lasted 17 years. He led the state of Florida in scoring as a junior and senior also serving as team captain for the Seminoles in 1969. His finest collegiate accomplishment was his double mark of 13.7 in high hurdles and 50.2 in the intermediate hurdles in the 1969 NCAA championships earning All-America status in both. The 440 Intermediate Hurdle time was the worlds fastest to that point that year. The double hurdle combination was the best time ever recorded and stood as a world standard for seven years.
