Hall of Fame Class: 1992 (Men's Tennis)

Ray Bellamy was one of the truly outstanding student-athletes in FSU history. He was captain of the tennis team and the number one singles player as a junior and senior in 1960 and 1961. Over that two year span, Bellamy lost a total of just three matches. While pursuing his pre-medical studies from 1957-61, he was vice president of his senior class and a Gold Key Society member. Dr. Bellamy went on from Florida State to serve as a flight surgeon in the United States Navy and continued his fine tennis career playing on the All-Navy team in 1967 and ’68. Dr. Bellamy returned to Florida to practice medicine and continued to win amateur tennis titles.
